my dream world

Aniamation is an optical illusion of motion. I love it and create it. Don't believe the doubts and never doubt the beliefs.

Some scenes have to slightly modify. But the big problem is character’s walking, Water waves and Water spout effect. I am re-doing the walking part,at same time, find a good way to solve Scene 9 (effect of Water spout).

Produced by: Science Alberta Foundation
Artist: Daniel Gies
This video was the 2011 Webby Award Winner for Animation and was commissioned by the Science Alberta Foundation. The focus is on explaining Nano Technology to kids without insulting the intelligence of adults in the process.
This animation use the method to approach head rotations and Blink animations.Basic head rotations using 3D layers, distortion mesh and expressions in After Effects.

This new technique is very clever. I learnt something from this video. I spend a lot of time and energy preparing for the head of character.

The amazing new video for Strawberry Swing was directed by visual artists Shynola .The stop-motion video featuring Chris Martin lying on the ground against animated chalk drawings. The video was nominated in the Best Animation in a Video category at the UK Music Video Awards 2009.The technique itself would also be a lot for the eye to take in. The idea of a day with a superhero on some weird adventure, artists chose to frame the journey with a very simple, easy-to-understand narrative: superhero saves girl from baddy. It’s pretty weird, but makes some sort of sense. It was deliberately spontaneous at that stage to try and keep the video playful.

The Notes of Tutorial

Scene 1
1. Check the background (trees) not animated
2. The rabbit need color-needs to be visible
3. See rabbit jump down a hole

Scene 2
Shadow in middle of girl’s face need add

Scene 5
When the girl fall the leaf, she need bounce obviously.

Scene 6
The green plant needs more flexible movement. (Softer)

Scene 7
1. Water waves—— offset animation
Layering is particularly effective when there is a notable contrast in the shade or texture of two overlapping objects.
2. Camera moving
Girl need stand in when the boat appear
Boat Shot
a. Need to see boat
b. Lower down to see move of the boat

Scene 8
1. Boat stops jumping
2. Eaten by whale
 a. Whale’s mouth need faster
 b. girl facial+ body reaction——much more dramatic
3. Check pixel on whale (too low)
4. Cut shot of whale in the sea on own

Scene 9
1. Inside whale need water flow in with boat
2. Need calm water (change shape and movement)
3. Water spout effect needed

Scene 10
1. Outside whale
Shot the sea——-push camera up with spout water
2. 1 to 2 second falling down (more falling and movement)
Background fans faster
3. The airplane flees in

Scene 13
Clouds less attracting
Semi transparent
Blurred and softer
The color of clouds —-pale blue

New technique (IK) used in After Effects

Duik Tools work in Inverse kinematics (IK), Cameras, Morphers are the essential tools for the animation on After Effects. Animation becomes handy and easy on After Effects!

With Duik you can also create “bones” on certain points of the puppet in After Effects, and then add IK on these bones. I can reproduce the exact same methods like for the rigging of characters in 3D, but in After Effects. The puppet acts like with skinning, and Duik fills out the setup. When the IK is applied on one single layer, the layer will always point towards a given point, whatever the position. which allows me to reproduce the “look at” principle and animating a look becomes easy!

Duik is going to evolve further and numerous new tools will probably be added to facilitate the animation process.

The world’s smallest stop-motion animation character shot on a Nokia N8

Any expensive advertising represents many people’s toil, attention, test and wisdom, artistic accomplishment and skills. Any compelling ideas into advertising and the painstaking care considerably puts into artist’s thoughts and hardworking than effects of writing and editing. Any advertising of the goods need the skill, the talent and close cooperation of team working.

The animated ads are a lot of market value. The animated ads can deeper into people’s lives, and closely linked to cultural industries and the general public. Cartoon images can make the audience to remember image and the contents of the advertisements. McLuhan suggested that each new technology creates an environment. It is difficult to detect which does not mean consumers can not realize of receiving ads, most of advertising is clearly recognition of consumers identify. Usually, human senses warn buyers that this is advertising and it is important to keep alert. In this point, animation ads like other media ads. The animated ads create a new environment unlike the text, photos, comics, novels which are the original environment. Buyers subconscious attract to the animated ads.

Nokia has teamed up with Aardman Animations to attempt a Guinness World Record for the “smallest stop-motion animation character in a film”, in a clip shot entirely on the new Nokia N8. The ’Dot’ film, created by Wieden & Kennedy, showcases the smartphone’s 12-megapixel photography capabilities and also celebrates the CellScope, a microscopic device attached to a Nokia handset. The tiny film has set a new world record for the smallest stop-motion animated character in a film.

Aardman used innovative Rapid Prototyping 3D printing technology that uses a computer-generated model of an object or character and then prints it in full 3D using a plastic resin material. The entire set was no more than a metre and a half long, all elements of which were used to help sell the scale of the project to the viewer.

I redesigned my last scene.  The length of time in final project is 1minute 22seconds.

Technologies

1.Photoshop CS5            Drawing
2.After Effect CS5        Animated &Compositing  (FreeForm Pro  & DUIK tools)
3. Adobe Premiere Pro       Editing & Audio

Now, I am working on  Animated &Compositing. I finished most of  them , but it still has lots of work need to do.

Keep working! Keep smiling!!!

The process of my final project (learning process)

The project allowed me to consider some elements I never thought of before. Firstly, I keep learning new technique (especially motion-control) and  gain more experience. Secondly, I should do production test for the main set of character(head rotations and Blink). In my blog, I will show some resources and tutorials. According to tutorials I know how to combine the puppet tool and Null objects to make a simple bone system for 2D puppets using After Effects .Thirdly, I must integrate my idea with practice and consider some risks. I have been using a blog not only record good resources but also keep tracking current production progress.

The style looks like the paper’s cutting works, using After Effect. I did some tests of real color paper and find that it is hard to control in post production of computer-generated.So, I will do all the working in computer.Actually, I like 3D background which has the unique feeling of space. The final project.I intended to mix 2D and 3D. I did some molding work in Cinema 4D and my character is 2D. The effect of mixing is not good enough and donot like paper’s cutting  which looks strange. I tried many times and waste lots of time which makes me giving up. I decided to using 2D piture and 3D layers in After Effects, then I  redesigned my last scene and it looks pretty good.

Moreover, I keep learning new technique every step and  gain more experience. I will show some resources and tutorials in my blog which broaden my vision. In addition, I must integrate my idea with practice and consider some changes. I keep rethink my work and making appropriate adjustments.

My project is basic on 2D animation. I hope my work looks like stop motion animation. I will do my level best to the face of character. It is really rough process of a character head. I used lots of time to learn 3D layers, distortion mesh and expressions in After Effects. It is an challenge to learn how to write programs and input expression in AE.
